Standardize testing has been in a heated topic for years with strong opinions of its place and value on both sides of the discussion.  More recently this issue has intensified to the point where several states have repealed or altered testing requirements.  In other areas, thousands of students have boycotted the exams. 

To keep you informed, WHRO will be streaming a live *Council of Great City Schools National Town Hall Meeting, October 24 around this explosive issue. NPR’s Education Correspondent, and meeting moderator, Claudio Sanchez, will be joined by six panelists from across the nation ranging from chancellor of the District of Columbia Public Schools to a high school senior class president. 

*The Council of Great City Schools consists of 67 school districts from across the nation and includes Norfolk Public Schools.
